I have Appalachian and Acadian ancestors merged with my mother and father. Genealogy is very interesting for me. I enjoy learning history at the same time.

Hi, Kathy, I am familiar with the Baie St. Marie Censuses and our project considers them reliable sources for that time and place. You have the Cromwells llisted in the sections you put on G2G. Is that the family you need to connect to? I don't see Jerome Laurence Cromwell on WikiTree yet, but this is a sufficient source to make a profile for him and his family members. What I saw on familysearch looked generally right on the children except for maybe a couple of duplicate children. His wife seems correct. His mother was Jane Cromwell with no father listed on his burial record as he was illigitimate. It might take some more digging to find/confirm the father. This family is English so my earlier records might not be too helpful as I specialize in French. Please let me know how to help you next. Cindy Bourque Cooper, co-leader, Acadian project

Hello, I am learning and would like to know more about setting relationships. Adoption and other unconventional relationships.
Ex GQV8-MKW Betty, daughter of LV5J-KKK Lena
Lena I’d married to 2S4K-B9V Bill
Bill is unable to have children, the Spanish flu epidemic of 1917 high fever caused sterility.
Lena and Bill want a child! Agreed arrangement for G7RR-Q6P Ralph to be with Lena.
Ralph is Bio father so I would like to explore this although I also want to respect my mothers adopted father Bill. My mother never learned of the circumstances till many years later when Ralph was the only person left and he was dying. He wanted to share with his bio daughter.
Now! How do I set up relationships?
Thanks in advance, Kathy
Our Adoption Angels group has set up this page on Historic Adoptions. Hopefully, this will help you find out about setting up your mother’s profile.
I would record the biological father as her father, but would add details of her adopted father as a link from her biography. However, the linked document should explain further.
