Hugh Lyon Adam was born on 02 May 1845 and baptised in the Cathcart Street Relief Church in Ayr on 01 June 1845, the son of John Adam and his wife Janet Lyon.[1]
Hugh Adam and Catherine Hunter were married in 1864 in St. Nicholas parish in Aberdeen.[2]
Following the death of his first wife, Catherine Hunter, Hugh Lyon Adam married Isabella Fraser in Govan, Lanarkshire on 17th September 1885.
Hugh Lyon Adam's gravestone, which still stands in the Ayr cemetery, states that he was born at Ayr on 02 May 1845, and died age 63, on 05 September 1908 at Auchentiber, which is a small hamlet in Ayrshire near Kilwinning. [4]
Hugh was buried in Ayr Cemetery. [5]
