Biography

Daniel was born March 29, 1896 in Siver Welne, Ukraine, then part of the Russian Empire.^[1] His parents were Irving (or Isadore or Zolman) Abrams and Fannie (Fischer) Abrams.^[2]

Daniel immigrated to the United States in October, 1914.^[3]

Daniel had already filed his first papers for naturalization by June 7, 1917, when he registered for the World War I draft in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States. He lived at 54 E Northhampton in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States and was a salesman for M Finkelstein. Although he was single and did not claim exemption, Daniel said he was the sole support of his mother and sisters. He was tall and stout, with brown eyes and black hair. Daniel had previously had an "operation for appendix".^[4] Although Daniel was inducted in the United States Navy at Wilkes-Barre and served in the "Pvt. Btry. A 22nd Bn. Detachment Brigade F.A.R.D." from May 29, 1918 to December 7, 1918, when he was honorably discharged at Camp Jackson, South Carolina, United States, he claimed "none" for active duty, "never" for grades or ratings, and "none" for service overseas.^[1]

Daniel applied for a passport, which was issued June 19, 1922, in order to visit his mother.^[3]

Daniel married Lillian Adelson December 29, 1926 in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States^[5] and they had three children^[1] (see Notes).

In 1930 Lillian and Daniel lived in Kingston, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States.^[6]

Daniel died October 10, 1939, three days after the onset of coronary thrombosis, in Forty Fort, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States.^[2]
