DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships.
It is likely that these
autosomal DNA
test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
Tillman Dixon is not a son of Elizabeth Abernathy and Charles Williams. He is a son of Henry Dixon, Sr and Elizabeth (surname not known). It is not known how he obtained the given-name Tillman, but there is no evidence that he inherited the name. Some thirty years ago we assumed Henry Dixon, Sr's wife was this Elizabeth Abernathy but that was before we found evidence that she married Charles Williams. Unfortunately I helped spread that false assumption. It is also posted on Geni.com.
Since there was no source in any of profiles supporting the connection, I have detached Tillman Dixon as a child from both of those parents and added a Research Note concerning the disputed origin. If anyone is aware of a reliable source supporting the claim that he was their child, please post a comment identifying the source for discussion.
Abernethy-339 and Abernathy-661 appear to represent the same person because: These profiles appear to be the same person with relatives & dates in common. The place of death is different but the dates are not. Please review & merge as appropriate. Please notate in public comments if rejected.
This profile has been in an Unmerged Match state for quite a while due to the birthdates of her children. Any chance someone could determine the correct relationships???
Abernathy-32 and Abernathy-661 are not ready to be merged because: I think I was premature in proposing that these profiles be merged before the children and other relationships are sorted (out) - e.g., she's born 1730 & daughter Betsy is born 1738.
Abernathy-32 and Abernathy-661 are not ready to be merged because: I think the children of this couple need to be sorted before additional merges. Sorry!
Abernathy-32 and Abernathy-661 are not ready to be merged because: Elizabeth born 1730 cannot be mother of Tabitha 1734. I think maybe more than one generation of children are being attributed to her.
I think that this profile is a match for Abernathy-32, but I don't think the husband it correct. Could you check your records for who Charles Williams married & her age? (Elizabeth b 1730; Charles born 1745; daughter of Elizabeth and Henry Dixon, Betsy, married a Mr. Williams.
