My relations/connections include: Mary (Boulter) Prescott of Hampton, NH was accused, as was her mother, Grace (Swaine) Boulter in 1680. Mary (Haseltine) Webster was the cousin of Deliverance Dane. Mary (Clement) Osgood was the sister of my 9th G Grandmother, Lydia (Clement) Pengry. There is a legend that Caleb Buffum helped the families of some of the executed retrieve and bury their bodies. My 9th GG, Daniel Thurston testified in the Newbury witchcraft trial of Elizabeth Morse.

Witch Trials occurred throughout Europe and some other parts of the world from about the 15th Century to the late 18th Century resulting in an estimated 70,000 to 100,000 executions. Later, there were some isolated incidents, but nothing like the mass hysteria of the 1600's.
