I've been trying to do some research on my 4thgreat-grandfather. I have found some info in the past which said he was a Captain from Mercer county, Pennsylvania. I am at a wall now as I can not find any documentation. The best source that I have found is found on page 178 of "History of Mercer county". This states that Abraham Clark was one of the Captains of the 134th regiment. (Clark-31810)

My ancestor Lyndes Willis Pettibone was a musician in the War of 1812 in the companies commanded by George Howards and E. Boardman, if I'm reading his service record correctly.
An image of his record as well as other information and the challenges/discrepancies that I'm facing in nailing down his life information is contained in this family history blog post that I compiled and wrote: https://rossfamilyhistory.wordpress.com/finding-lyndes-willis-pettibone/ [edit] | |
