Info about Andrew Morton (b. 1864) and family

Hello all, I'm a new wiki-treer and I thought I would introduce myself and also offer up some information which might help others looking for family connections.

Andrew MORTON of Glasgow was the father of Jessie Morton PENNYCOOK, my grandmother. I'm recording here some family information recalled by my mother (who is still alive). It is probably broadly correct but I won't base changes to profiles on it until I can verify with documents.

Meanwhile, someone might find something useful here and I would be interested to hear about further links to any of these people:

Andrew Morton worked in the dockyards. He and his family lived for the most part in Glasgow, but for at least some time they lived in Tyneside.

The children born to Andrew and his wife Elizabeth McDONALD, with approximate dates and other details where known, were:

Elizabeth (Bessie), 1891 - 1968, m. ARNOTT

    -- dtrs Jessie, Betty (b. 1939) + poss. 2 more

Margaret (Meg), 1893 - 1972, m. ?

Jessie, 1895 - 1973 m. William Henry PENNYCOOK

    -- son Andrew only

John, 1898 - 1918

Jemina (Mina), 1900 - ?, m. HOWIE

    -- dtr Joan

Andrew, 1902 - ?

Anne (Nan), 1906 - ?    m. HUNTER

    -- son David (b. 1948?)

Hugh, 1908 - ?

Nan and Mina went to live in Canada or the USA. Jessie (dtr of Bessie Morton ARNOTT) may have settled in Newcastle.

I have some more names for the next generation, but since these are sketchy details and relate to people very likely still alive I won't post this. The other surnames arising by marriage include FORREST, ROBERTSON and DIMPEL. If you think you are related please feel free to contact me directly.

I do expect to be able to firm this up with documentary evidence, I just thought I would post here what I had found out, in case it is of interest.
