We have a project for this.  Contact the Adoption Angels

https://www.wikitree.com/contact/adoption/

There is a waiting list.

Things you should do to help an Adoption Angel help you:

1  Request the Non Identifying Information Report from the state where you were born and or adopted from

2.  If that allows it request the original birth certificate.  This varies by state.

It is good that you have done a DNA test.

Thanks Laura, I had popped in to make the same reply.
Only my mother is on my birth certificate, I have her dna confirmed, but I’m afraid she may have blocked out a traumatic event because she says it’s one of two native guys from Minnesota, but I can’t figure out how I connect to either of them.

Here’s what I have so far. The James Brown born in Mexico, Missouri, In Sept.11th,1888 was Sonny’s father, “Sonny“ was supposedly Raymond Brown, born in the 40’s, sister Evelyn, (Her children’s children are showing up as my second cousins), his brother Edward (daughter is showing up as a great aunt,) I can’t seem to find any other children of Raymond, who would be my great-grandfather, so I’m thinking he may have been a rolling stone and either didn’t know about another child, or I have to wait until they die to get the information. The family that I’m connected to, which is pretty great since I've never had more than four total family members with blood relation, I could not be more happy with the newfound family. But they say they all split up around the country, and they have very little information where or what he did, and the names my mother gave me as the options aren’t Browns or appearing to be children of any Browns...

Hi Jamie, if your father is likely to still be alive, we will not be able to help.

Have you tried familysearch.org? It’s free to register and use.

Unfortunately, I have. I wasn’t adopted, just raised by my mother who gave birth to me a month after she turned 13, it’s strange because my closest match is Sonny Browns adopted son, however, he’s showing as my great-uncle, or 1st-2nd cousin. They were from Missouri and Ohio, apparently Sonny, or Raymond Brown, passed away in Oregon, I just can’t figure out how I connect to them in Minnesota...  Today I saw a Karen Brown add a Brown in Minnesota, is there a way to see if we are a dna match if she doesn’t show up in my ancestry? I suppose I just have to connect with her? If my great uncle is sonnys child, what does that make my father to Sonny, his grandchild? I’m stuck, been looking at it all for two years, and no new close matches. I may have to wait for a sibling to figure it out... :(
