Suggestion: Include the edited child in the list of children during editing

Hi everyone: I've noticed when editing the profile of a child from a family, the child's profile being edited does not appear in the list of siblings on the right column. Perhaps more confusing, the remaining siblings are numbered, excluding the profile being edited: if you're editing sibling #3, the list on the side shows sibling #4 as #3, #5 as #4, etc.).

Suggestion: Can we please add a "Place Holder" for the profile being edited so we can always see where the child fits in the rest of the siblings. Ideally, it would be the edited profile name in bold or bold/italics, and show their birth order number.

The same is true when viewing sibling profiles -- the current profile is dropped from the list of siblings and it can sometimes be confusing to remember where it fits in the birth order.

Thanks for considering my suggestion.

And i added "improvements," because that's the tag that the tech staff follows to see suggestions and requests for improvements.

Agreed, and yes the numbering should be static no matter which profile was selected Ted for editing...otherwise this is too confusing!

That's presumably because it's heading is "Edit Family" and therefore it is a list of clickable links to all the other members of the family. It would probably work if the person whose edit page you are on came up as a greyed out, non-clickable entry in the list though, else it might become more confusing, especially in families where names were used more than once because the earlier child with that name died.

I like the suggestion of a grayed-out entry. I often want to see where the child I'm editing fits in the sequence.
I'm OK with the sibling list the way it is, but Ellen makes a good point. I have also many times wanted to see where the child I'm editing falls in the sequence, so a grayed-out entry would be convenient and I wouldn't be opposed to that change.
