My mother was adopted, but I have a name of potential maternal parent, anything about Violet Mae Baker of NC?

We have a project, Adoption Angels that can help you in your search.  I would recommend that you seek out help from them.  I've added the Adoption Angels tag to your post so that it will have visibility to that project.

I don't see that you've created a profile for your mother yet.  I would recommend to create a profile for her and include as much information as you know.  The more information a researcher has to start with the more successful they can be.

Also, go to familysearch.org and then go to the word search and then records. If you put in the name Violet Mae Baker and approx year you see a few more.

Hi Erica, There is a template for adoptees on WikiTree you might find helpful to use when setting up your Mom's profile. Also, search basics are documented for adoptees on WikiTree. If you have had your DNA tested you can confirm the name of the potential maternal parent. If not, I would recommend having your DNA tested. Since the Ancestry database is the largest, most people test with Ancestry first.
