Have you looked for him in U.S. Census sheets and other records available on FamilySearch.org?
Just a quick heads-up...

The place that states "WikiTree profile" is where you place the profile for the individual in question (George H Mault) and not your own.

This way the individual who reads your posted question can just select the link that goes directly to the "George H Mault" profile.

Also, you should provide additional details regarding your specific question(s) as to what your asking about rather than just asking if anyone knows this individual.

Just some helpful hints for you... :-)

Good Luck! :-)

Yes, I have searched all records ...in Family Search , Im actually searching for his father , William R Mault
It wont let me change my profile name , is that what your saying? im searching for George H Mault, but I had to create a person to begin with which was myself... Maybe you can give me the steps to go through. I went to my Wiki Tree Link, then scrolled down to word profile ...but doesnt allow you to change it ...should I open new acct.
Ellen, someone said I need to change the Profile name on tree to George H mault, and not myself... to get people to see tthe person Im searching .Im confused .

Do you want information about yourself? Then you state the profile is Rickey Wiley.

Do you want information about George H. Mault you put HIS name instead of using yours

I see you have not yet profiled your parents, siblings, aunts and uncles. You cannot attach yourself directly to George H Mault or his father until you profile your way to there, person by person

Meanwhile, it turns out George H. Mault and his wife are already on Wikitree, in scant detail and not much in source

Ricky, I apologize for not clarifying that I was referring to the page regarding the information when a question is being submitted on the G2G feed here.

So Is my Question okay on the G2G place ?  so that others can view it ?

Ricky

Questions you have require someone to answer and g2g forum is the place to ask them, yes

Now how do you connect yourself to George H. Mault and then to his father?

First create the profile for your father and your mother. I'm guessing one of them was a descendant of George's father, William? Let's pretend it is your mother.

So the second step would be to create the profiles of your mother's parents. Okay, we still have not connected to William Mault. One of those parents of your mother's parents, her grandparents, is descended from WIlliam Mault.

So third, you would profile the grandparent. You continue to profile person by person until you can connect to William

This question now has a link to George Mault's profile, because Ricky created the profile and I just added it to the question.

Ah, Ellen, Kim E. is the PM of George H. Mault-23, NOT Ricky Wylie, but otherwise, yes, good move

Erm...  Susan's message caused me to realize that there are now two profiles for this one man. I proposed a merge.
Ellen,

Thank you for merging some of m family for me...Your the best .!

Happy Holidays :)

Rick
Happy and peaceful holidays unto you and I hope the MAULT line is now sorted out? Hope. Hope. Seems appropriate to the Season.

That Profile of the Mault Family is an excellent resource. Look up the various records cited there to find additional information.

That source includes several newspaper stories -- that's lucky! I've had some luck (while researching other people) using https://fultonhistory.com/ to find news items from the Amsterdam Evening Recorder. The fultonhistory site has images of numerous New York newspapers. Searching that site for "mault amsterdam", the only hit I got was a 1934 marriage notice for Alma Mault, but you likely will do better by testing various different search strings.

Ive been to the Fulton History site and got info already and Family Search site and Ancestry .... but feel as though I have hit a brick wall.... Ugh

The brute strength method of banging your head against the wall doesn't seem to be real effective against brick walls, but a more subtle approach may get results. Share all the information you have here on the profiles for George H. Mault and any family members you've identified. Other people can't be particularly helpful to you unless you tell us what you already know. And sharing the details of the records you have may guide you to new information. Maybe a profile for a sibling will help a distant cousin find a profile, and maybe that cousin has information that you don't have. Or maybe a discrepancy in dates between two records, or the name of a marriage witness, or the name of an apparently unrelated person on a census sheet will give you ideas about additional places to look.

Meanwhile, I looked for George H Mault in the Ancestry database "New York, Death Index, 1852-1956" and I found that he died in Syracuse on 1 March 1930. You could request his death certificate from the state Department of Health -- see https://www.health.ny.gov/vital_records/genealogy.htm and https://www.newyorkfamilyhistory.org/new-york-birth-marriage-death-vital-records#Accessing for details. Death records often have worthwhile clues regarding a person's parents.

I do emphasize adding sources any other researcher can also access which is why I recommend free sites like www.familysearch.org

If you "disappear" and are no longer active no one can ask you where you got the info. If where you got the info is on the profile of the person, then there is no problem -- unless that website disappears also -- which is why I recommend familysearch -- they have archives in vaults underground or something like, so I was told, secured about as well as NORAD I was told and then was told if those archives go, then humanity is down to less than 5% and hunting for food and shelter and not genealogy materials

www is ephemeral, anything on www otherwise can simply vanish and it does do that
