any chance of seeing transcriptions of Texas Marriage Registries?

Tulla L Price married Arthur (spelled Author in his marriage record) L Cook on 02 September 1883 in Montague County, Texas, according to the index here.

A few of us would like to know if there is any more info available about this marriage. Is there an online transcription of the marriage registry itself?  What sorts of info was collected in Texas at that time?

Also looking for any more info about Tulla and Arthur..

This is growing out of the question asked about Samuel Calvin Cook.  We would like to explore or rule out the possibility that Arthur and Tulla are Samuel's birth parents.

We are also wondering about any connection to Dora Lulu Price, who seems to have been in a motherly role to Samuel, yet not to be his mother.

It looks like you may be able to view images of the original at your local Family History Center: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/428925?availability=Family%20History%20Library

You have helped alot, if im understanding correctly by what you found.... Arthur and Zachariah both marred a Dora (Tulla) L Price, 5 years apart in same county. Arthur married Tulla L Price Sept 2, 1883 (had Samuel, 1884) and Zachariah married Dora L Price Dec 24, 1888 which would explain why Samuel is on 1910 census as step son.  Now to find Arthur's death or divorce? Thank you
Sure! Did you go to a Family History Center? Or did you find another way to view these images?
I don't see any evidence yet that says that Tulla Price and Dora Price are the same person. In fact, there are a few facts that make it less likely:

Dora is rather young to be marrying in 1883.

If Tulla/Dora later married Zachariah, her last name should now be Cook.  But the index refers to Dora Price.

A more likely scenario that attempts to harmonize the information that Samuel's father's name is Arthur Cook, yet Samuel is raised by Zach and Dora Haywood: Arthur and Tulla marry and have Samuel; Tulla dies; Arthur does not immediately remarry so a relative of Tulla's takes the boy.  Arthur may have lived a long life - in those days it was very rare for single fathers to raise their children.  Even if the father was still alive, young children would be raised by a relative or neighbour.

We really don't see enough evidence here to say, yet.

Of course, you can also write to Montague County Clerk and ask for a copy of the record. They might charge you a few dollars for it. Texas counties generally have these registries in their offices. Or at least the handwritten indexes.
