Grietje Van Wickelen (Van Wickelen-2) and Privacy Level 60 Margaret Cornell (Van Wikkele-1)  Both are PPP

Please remove the PPP so the merge can be completed.

Thanks

Which is the target?
These profiles are in the "Needs LNAB" maintenance category because neither profile gives a good basis for determining her LNAB. (Experience leads me to think it might not be the name on either profile.) The PPP status on both profiles is intended to delay the merge until after we've figured out what her name was.

Unfortunately, it seems that none of this woman's descendants or other project members has been sufficiently interested in this family to look for additional information. One profile is based on a fairly recent article in NYGBR (an excellent source). It appears from the profile that her baptism and marriage are not recorded, but there apparently are other records mentioned in the article but not mentioned in the profile. The other profile apparently is based on a Findagrave memorial (which cites the NYGBR article) and a familysearch family tree. The children's profiles are poorly sourced (and the will cited in one profile identifies several children who do not have connected profiles). It would not take much effort to look in free sources, such as the Brouwer Genealogy Database and Pat Wardell's Early Bergen County Families to get leads on where more information about this family can be found. The NYGBR does require a subscription or library access, but neither of these is hard to obtain. I keep hoping that more of the NNS project members who are eager to merge profiles will contribute to the research these profiles need.
Depending on how old the NYGBR article is, it may be available to NEHGS members.
This one's too new for the NEHGS website.

I have NYGBR access, so I can look this one up (but when the article is old enough to be on NEHGS, I use that because the website is easier to use).

We seem to have a large cadre of members with an interest in families named Cornell and Cornwell (in a part of New Netherland where I have minimal knowledge), and I'd love for those folks to work on improving profiles.

Merge set up to target Van Wikkele-1

Maybe Ellen Smith wants to do something with this...

Ellen Smith (i.e., me, myself, and I) proposed the merge back in September after reviewing the article in the NYGBR, and since both profiles had currently active individual members as managers (in addition to the project), she assumed that one of them would be interested in investigating other sources (which are free online) in order to help resolve the "Needs LNAB" situation on both profiles. Sadly, neither of the profile managers has responded. but plenty of people find it urgently important to alert Ellen Smith that the merge is still pending.
Beryl, why Van Wikkele? NYGBR uses the other spelling.

Jillaine started to complete the merge for Ellen but got stuck on the LNAB conflict.
Ellen is still trying to determine the LNAB. The merge will be easy once the LNAB is worked out. There apparently are no records for this woman's baptism or marriage. The 1997 NYGBR article standardized the spellings of the family name for convenience, so it's not a particularly good source for her LNAB. Last evening, Ellen found a 2004 NYGBR article focused on Grietje's father's will, and got distracted by that (note that the father also has two profiles needing to be merged), before retiring for the night.
