Need some advise. I have made an error when inviting a family member.

Question

I invited someone to be a Family Member for their family but incorrectly added their email address to a living Aunt, so how do I rectify the problem? She will now be known by her Aunt's name instead of her own.

Hi Eileen,

The easiest solution is to change the name on the one you added the email address to to their actual name and then re-create the profile for Gloria and fix all the connections.

Hi Sarah, Sorry, Had a busy day so didn't reply sooner. Thanks for your help but I have a concern. By changing the profile from the GrAunt Gloria to the GrNiece (I'll call her MissU) & a different LNAB, will that create a problem with the WikiTree ID that MissU has been allocated or will it be automatically converted to the new ID & linked to the same email. My concern is that she will no longer be able to log in.
UPDATE: Because of the Family Member accepting the Invitation she is now the PM so I'm not able to change the LNAB. Have asked her to re-add me as PM but I'm still not certain that this is the best process. Eileen

The merge won't prohibit her from logging in as she uses the email address to login not the Wiki-ID. If you are having troubles please email info @ wikitree.com and they can help you complete the process!
