Persinger-455 and Persinger-452 are currently showing as brothers.

When you try to use the WT ID# are you including the dash?

Can you explain what you are trying to do exactly? What connection, and through which screen?

The format for each name should include a hyphen, such as:

  • Persinger-455
  • Persinger-452

A Wiki ID consists of both a surname and a number separated by a single hyphen, no spaces. The easiest way to get the Wiki IDs correct is to copy them from end of the URL of each profile then paste them into the appropriate boxes.

Thank you I will try that- WHy do they make it so hard to use this site- I can understand trying not to get duplicates but!
Nope still cannot do it- what is the trick- I tried to copy and paste- NOPE

I tried saving the address and pasting that NOPE

I tried hand putting it in- NOPE-

I have spend way too much time on getting this fixed- thanks any way
Deb, hope it works for you. I learn something new here almost every day. Isn't it great we have G2G so we can "holler" when we have a problem or need advice?
Deb .. exactly what are you trying to do?

What is wrong with the relationship as it now is?
Hmmm...did you try copying and pasting from Steven's answer above? If you've tried everything and nothing has worked, there may be an issue other than the way the Wiki IDs are being put in.
I'm guessing Deb has figured it out, as Persinger-452 is now the son, not the brother, of Persinger-455.

yes I hope so, Melanie.

If I had to take a guess, you might be doing what I did way back when. I was taking "www.wikitree.com" and adding "Persinger-455" to it and BAM - it failed. However, if you do a "www.wikitree.com/wiki" and then add "Persinger-455" to it - TADA! It works!

Or you can click the links and it works that way too. Let me know if maybe I guessed correctly, because I did that too at one time.
