Do you have to be an accepted member of a Name Study to make the sticker show up on a profile? And what about if the owner of the study doesn't answer your request to join?

When the study is re-started, the list of notables should include automotive pioneer, Charles W. Nash (Nash-6121).

I see his profile needs some work though, right now it's just a copy&paste of the full Wikipedia article, not even from the edit page, meaning the formatting wasn't copied properly.

No, your membership of a Name Study has nothing to do with the sticker working.  The sticker functions when the background redirect has been set - which, in this case, was not done.  Apologies.  I have fixed it now.

Or were you talking about categories, as opposed to stickers?

The PM of the Nash Name Study has not been on WikiTree since 2017, so it is unlikely that you will get a reply.  The Name Study will therefore be made dormant.  I am afraid I cannot offer you the PMship just now, as you have recently started three Name Studies and need to get settled with those first.  This includes sending me a Trusted List (something which you were asked to do three times several days ago).

What does it mean when it says you have “selected” the answer to a question on G2G forum?
It means that you have chosen that answer as the "Best Answer" by clicking on the star at its top right.

How does one set the background redirect?

You do not set it.  Those permissions are set by Leaders only.
The background needs to be set for Ransier_Rancier-2, Ransier_Rancier-6, Ransier-13, Ransier_Rancier-4, Ransier_Rancier-8, Ransier_Rancier-9, Ransier_Rancier-5, Ransier_Rancier-7, because the One Name Study sticker is not showing up.
The redirect was set several days ago.  You have to put the sticker on the profile.

I have done so on Ransier-13, so you can see.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ransier-13

One Name Study sticker still not showing up on Ransier_Rancier-2, Ransier_Rancier-6, Ransier_Rancier-4, Ransier_Rancier-8, Ransier_Rancier-9, Ransier_Rancier-5, Ransier_Rancier-7, even though it has been applied in the profile.

I think I see the problem.  I looked at Ransier_Rancier-2, and the sticker has NOT been applied.  You have put a category on there: [[Category:Ransier Name Study]] (and, by the way, it should go above the ==Biography== heading, not below.)

The sticker is:
{{One Name Study|name=Ransier}}

Ok-I got confused on how the sticker is formatted. But what is strange is another woman told me to put the sticker BELOW the Bio!

The sticker does go below the ==Biography== header.  It's the category which goes above.

Example:
[[Category:]]
{{Template}}
==Biography==
{{Sticker}}
==Sources==
