Moriah Gillett b. 1799, d 1879. She died after living 50 years as a Shaker in Watervliet NY.   She states in her records there that she is a grand-niece of Ethan Allen.  I'm trying to figure out if she is related to the Gillett family of Watervliet (my ancestors); but cannot find any records beyond her Shaker burial.   Thank you.

Did not find a Moriah Gillett born 1799 and died 1879 in NY at WikiTree. Are you sure of those spellings, birth and death years, and location are correct? Ethan Allen is Allen-1.

If Moriah, above is at WikiTree then Allen-1 could be compared to Moriah in the Connection finder.
Hello,

Thanks for your reply.  The birth and death years are correct.  There is a chance her first name is Maria, not Moriah.  The only connection to Ethan Allen we have is the records of the Shaker community in Watervliet, NY where she lived for her last 50 years.   There are other Gillett family in the area and we're trying to figure out who she is.  Thank you again.

Found the FAG for Moriah Gillett. I guess that would be the place to start as it mentions she is the niece of Ethan Allen.

Thank you for the suggestion of the FindAGrave.  This is the information I have; as well as I've researched with the Shaker Community.  The Shakers do not have any other information than this record.  What I am trying to figure out is what is the familial connection to Ethan Allen.  Which family member is she descended from - if, in fact, this statement is true.  Thank you all.
Thank you Susan, for selecting my answer.
Sharon, last night I started at Ethan Allen. I selected his first child and started to trace him and all of the siblings. Then went to the next one, but that was a lot of work. Must be an easier way.  Sorry.
Thank you, Cheryl, for giving that a start.  I've been working on the same thing; and it's very time consuming.  Perhaps a quicker answer will be found one day!  Thank you again!
