I have sources to show I am a descendant of William Richard Tyner, however recent findings of Tyner DNA project claim his parents are not Sarah Tyner and John Harris descendant. So, would like help figuring out who is parents are. DNA project shows he is related to Holmes. His second wife is suppose to be Agnes Sookie Susannah McDaniel married first to a Daugherty, then second marriage to Richard Tyner. I have found conflicting info that she wasn't a McDaniel married a Daugherty, but born a Daugherty. Would like help finding her parents. Family story is that she is Granny Hopper's daughter.

Hi Jan! Have you looked on FamilySearch.com? According to that site, the parents of William Richard Tyner are listed as John Harris Tyner and Sarah Adair so I'm not sure on that. The site DOES list Granny Hopper (Taw-lits-cah Sookie "Granny") as Agnes' mother and James McDaniel as her father. When I started researching my family tree on Family Search most of the names on this family line were already connected and auto-populated, so I did not find and connect everyone myself. It says the source is based on the book "Cherokee Chief Stalking Turkey and His Descendants" by William A Hinson.  Let me know if you want me to email what I found. I'm new to this site, not sure how to attach stuff.
Thank you for your reply. I have resource of Richard Tyner's will which has my 4x great grandmother's name, Elizabeth Tyner Boatright, mentioned in it. I have a land lottery ticket she purchased in Georgia, and my 2x great grandmother, Pernetta Ginn McVey shared the account of Richard Tyner's first wife, Eliza Jane Harmon, and family being attacked by Creek. The Georgia history account shares the story of the attack and kidnapping of his daughters Tamar and Mary. My DNA matches those on Wiki tree listing ancestry with Richard Tyner....it is frustrating when the notes on these sites just state it's impossible and my ancestors don't exist, when the will of Richard Tyner lists them and my DNA matches their descendants. My Agnes Dougherty was born 1752 and died in1821, she gave birth to my 4 x great grandmother in 1780 at the age of 28.

There is no such person as “Agnes Sookie Susannah McDaniel Daugherty Tyner.”  A woman named Agnes Daugherty, daughter of Charles and Mary (Downing) Daugherty, was born about 1818.  She married a man named “Black Haw,” believed by some to be Richard Tyner.  A totally different woman named Susan/Susannah/Sookie, possibly LNAB of McDaniel, was born about 1780-1785 and married James Dougherty, Jr.  They died about 1837.

The magic of the Internet tree has mashed up these Cherokee women (born 35-40 years apart) and their husbands.

It’s likely that William Richard Tyner had no connection to any of these people.
