[SOURCES NEEDED] Miletus York, born in NY moved to WI

Miletus York was born 16 Apr 1799 in New York. He appears in the 1840 census in Scio, Allegany County, NY, and then in 1860 living with his wife Lucy in Wisconsin while their two youngest children (grandchildren? Can't be certain...) are at his wife's family's home next door. He passed away 21 June 1863 in Wisconsin.

Aside from these two censuses, Find a Grave, and a book mentioning him once by name as a member of a church in Scio, any sources not requiring a subscription on Miletus York (not his son, Miletus Curtis York) would be appreciated. Thanks!

I didn't find anything new, but I removed the Unsourced tag.  It's only meant for when a profile has no sources at all.

Nice job, by the way.  yes

Can you access ancestry at the local library? I found some clues there - was his middle name Mathias? Did he have a first wife Sarah?

I did find an Ancestry record that led to this free link https://glorecords.blm.gov/details/patent/default.aspx?accession=WI1210__.164&docClass=STA&sid=js42hhxw.yjn

Have you tried looking at Miam York who he lived next door to in 1860? Possibly a brother.

Another place to look is the non indexed New York probate and land records for Allegheny county and newspapers at Fultonhistory.com

You could try writing to the person who did the majority of the entry for his brother on another website: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/LVM6-5N4

You could try asking if anyone knows of a source for Methodist Episcopal church records at https://www.facebook.com/alleganyhistory.org/

The headstone is very worn, but I read it as Meritus, or at a pinch it might be Mr something?
