Looking for the parents of Joseph Dixon who died in 1789 in Sumner, TN and was married to Catherine Lovin.

Question

Joseph Dixon died in TN, but likely moved there after recieving a land grant for fighting in the Revolutionary War.  He was likely from North CarolinaI think.  His wife was Catherine Lovin, and they had a child named Anne Dixon (1778 – 1845)  who married Samuel King.  I am stuck here.  I can't find the parents of either Joseph or Catherine.  If anyone has any clues or leads to try out I would love to hear them!
