My brick wall for the longest time has been my 3rd GGF Frederick C. Kline. He lived most of his life in Carbon County, PA; specifically in Mauch Chunk. He married Marietta Staples in 1850. They had 5 children between 1852 and 1861 (Rachel in 1852, Emily in 1854, John in 1857, Sallie in 1859, and Robert in 1861). He owned a shoe store in Mauch Chunk that burnt down in 1868. He was the treasurer for the Greenback political party. He moved to Norwalk, Connecticut in 1897, and passed away there in 1901.
I just tracked down his death certificate and ordered it, and I'm just waiting for it to arrive in the mail. The clerk was kind enough to e-mail me a transcription of it, and it contains some info I didn't have previously, such as his father's name, and what his C middle name stands for. I'm hoping some of this info will stick out to someone:
