Wikitree Video Tutorials

The new Wikitree video Tutorials are awesome especially because I am a visual learner. I am wondering if the wonderful team who assembled the videos could create  companion handouts that we can print out and keep handy for reference reading/reminder how to. This would help persons who learn best by reading and reduces frustration for those of us who have to search this wildlife because finding things on this site is not necessarily intuitive. I'm not referring to a site that alphabetized headings for the videos, but actual companion instruction instructions handouts that can be printed. Again, videos are very informative and kudos to the team. Would just like handouts that are as informative. Thanks! Carol (Baldwin -3428)

For a visual person like me, your idea for printable handouts is brilliant! I hope someone picks up on this and runs with it. I heart the idea, Carol.

Great idea, Carol! I'm loving the videos, too,
Thanks, Pip, for your positive feedback. See below! Looks like the trainers are in process with handouts! I am doing my first CAT with the Sandringham Strollers. Since this is new to me, I am involved with sex (changing sex, adding sex, revising sex, etc.) and documenting profiles that haven't done anything (Biography, Sources) or sex since 2011, or 2012, or 2013 on up to 2018 even with prior requests. I am learning a lot about the CAT, Data Doctoring and sex. Again thanks for the positive feedback on printable handouts. It made my day after a lousy night of sex and computer crashing during the CAT. Carol
Hi Nelda, Yes! The videos are terrific. Maybe they should have videos for EVERYTHING. I never realized what all those widgets, etc. meant. I have bugged Eowyn, Pip, Anne B, Jillaine, Gillian, Janet and on and on and the videos with handouts would be so helpful for newbies as well as seasoned veterans! Thanks again, Carol

a lousy night of sex and computer crashing”

This is about the funniest response I’ve ever gotten. Carol, you just made my day! laughlaughlaugh

Pip, so glad I made someone's day! It's been a day! I'm taking a break from the CAT. I just heard about yet another shooting in the US (CA) at a synagogue. Just need to meditate for about 1/2 hour, then back to the CAT to keep me busy and try to make a contribution. There's a lot of bad sex to DD this England file! Again, Pip, thanks for the humorous response. You are a gift. Carol

Please add Data Doctors as a tag so Data Doctors project group sees this message

As Sheryl posted a few places, the Suggestion Help pages are being rewritten, so that will help with more instructions, I think.

Thank you, Linda, for this suggestion. I was not sure who all to add. Of course! Data Doctors! Carol

Thank you, Carol,

We mentioned that in addition to the videos, we are revising and updating the current suggestion help pages as a companion to the videos, and vice versa.

That will be your "cheat sheet" although not "hand-outs" or slides like you can get with a PowerPoint Presentation, although that is the same concept we are working with: "watch the movie, read the book".

Even the current help pages have the link to the video, and every suggestion report or suggestion status page has a link to the video when they have been released.

Thank you for your suggestion as this confirms that the improvements we have planned are aligned with what is needed.

Have you checked the collection and group pages yet?  This is the link:

Data Doctors Project Video Collection

And the Video section of the: Data Doctor Project page

Each video is related to one of the project's suggestion type groups/genre and link to the page/video from the genre theatres.

Could you please edit your question and include the tag: data_doctors

That will help get this post into our tracking.

We appreciate your post and happy you like the videos.  You can also search G2G with the tag data doctors to see the announcements so far.

Sheryl, all the work you and your group are doing on this is greatly appreciated. I've said it before--I'll say it again--these videos and the help pages are wonderful! I refer to the help pages frequently and try to direct others to them as well.
Thank you, Nelda.

Carol's post didn't include the data doctors tag but one of our team saw it and brought it to my attention.  Hopefully, she will add the tag so we can track.

The help pages are being revised to be more helpful and that process is taking longer than anticipated, but all will be revised.

Karen Hoy does the videos and is doing a superior job!
Hi Sheryl,

Carol's post (that would be me) DOES include the data doctors tag now. I just edited my message. Now that I know who 'owns' this terrific training, I will be sure to add the tag. As soon as the CAT ends (I am working with the Sandringham Strollers and this is my 1st CAT) I will contact Karen Hoy to thank her! She is definitely the Rosie the Riveter of videos for this wiki-training! Thanks! Carol
And I second, third and fourth your comments regarding the videos, Nelda. I am on a CAT break because our program is crashing frequently. Carol
Thank you, Carol - appreciate the tag addition, and if you can remove the doctors tag and add suggestions that will help a lot.

I am sure Karen would appreciate a thank you - she does a fantastic job and we work all hours.

I am only the pre-production critic and create the video collection pages and project manager.

Good Luck with CAT!

Rosie the Riveter  - wasn't she a big war effort icon in England during WWII?

She was american

There was a 'Riviter' who attended the Oscosh airshow in Wisconson a couple of years back I think her talk was packed
