Data base site for gateway ancestors

Question

I was told this site linked below has a list of gateway ancestors taken from secondary sources. If your family name is listed you are probably linked, I was told.

I have several different ancestors' family names in here all related to each other. I don't know how to use it right for finding the linkage though.

Here are my families at geneologics. They are interrelated with each other coming down one of my tree lines. These people also have pages here at wikitree. I don't know what this means as far as the geneologics site. Are they connected to somebody?

Most of the people listed in these families has a page here and their lines are intermarried as I said but I don't understand how to connect them with an anchor ancestor.

On the main page in the upper right is a link called "surnames". It is huge and you can look up a family name in there especially if you have a family name that goes far back.

I was told that all the names in this huge database are connected to gateways or to the anchor.

If anyone knows how to work it please advise. I think you click on your relative, then get the ID of the one you want to match to and do a connection search. Put your oldest relative in I think it will be more likely to give a result. ty

Hello,

There is a national organization, The Dames and Barons of the Magna Carta which has a list of known or proven gateway ancestors with a list of the Barons that person is descended from. Its url is:  http://magnacharta.org/.
