The Drouin Institute regularly publishes updates to their work on LAFRANCE, which is a set of millions of indexed parish registers from the Drouin collection. I don't normally share those posts, though, as they are usually routine.
That said, there is an exciting update about the future of the database. After announcing that the Institute had completed indexing all of the Catholic baptisms and burials through 1861 in the Québec parishes, it was announced that the it would begin indexing the registers in Acadia and Ontario, covering the period from inception to 1861. In addition, the Protestant records in Québec parishes will be updated to 1861 as well (they are currently indexed through 1849).
More details can be found at the Drouin Institute blog, which can be found here.
