Advice before editing this pre-1700 Woodhouse profile?

I have information to contribute to the profile of Elizabeth Woodhouse. This is what I can add:  Names of parents and perhaps further back.

These are the sources I am using:   https://gw.geneanet.org/tdowling?lang=en&n=woodhouse&oc=0&p=elizabeth

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Hi Dan. Tim Dowling's tree comes up a lot in Google searches for some reason known only to the Internet.  In this case, his tree has no sources of any kind for the parents it lists. To meet pre-1700 profile criteria for citations it would need to have either a/ primary source documentation (parish birth register or the like clearly stating both parent and child) or b/ some very good secondary source information (a couple of period town records referencing Elizabeth Woodhouse, daughter of so and so....).

In this case, please do not add this information to the profile. I realize it is currently poorly sourced but this would not add any clarity since it provides no documentation for its parentage claim.

If you think the listed parent might be correct, use the name to see if you can locate primary and secondary sources to document that it is correct. It looks like people have searched long and hard for her parents but sometimes it is as simple as no one having yet found a document you may find in your searching.

Tim Dowling's tree is huge and is noted for descending most of the Presidents from King John.  (Only about a dozen President - King John lines actually stand up)

He claims BridgeAnne d'Avignon plagiarized his work.  Well she used her grandfather's database, and he got his stuff off the internet, so it's very possible.

But I guess many "useful" connections can be found in Tim Dowling's tree that aren't easy to find anywhere else.
