Laurie, when you remove a profile from an image, if there are no other profiles connected to that image then it is marked for deletion. Please note that it will not actually be deleted for a few days in case you want to restore it to use. This is probably the reason why you can't upload it to WikiTree again now.
You might be able to go to the image page - click "Contributions" on your profile page and find the entry for when you uploaded the image - it should have a link you can click to show the image's page. If you can get to that page then scroll down on it until you see a section on the left for profiles connected to the image. There you can either enter the WikiTree ID of the profile you want to connect it to or you will find the profile listed with a box you can check. After that, be sure to scroll all the way down to the big green button that you must click to save your changes.
If you can't do that, then I would ask if you're absolutely sure that you can't upload the image again or if it's just that you get a big scary warning about it that also has a place for you to click if you're sure you want to do it. If that's the case, then you can upload it.
If all else fails then you can change the filename of the image in your computer and after that you will not have a problem uploading it.
Your final option is to just wait a few days and try again. After the image is actually deleted, you will have no problem uploading it again.
