Has the ability to turn off location suggestions been lost?

It appears that one cannot turn off place name suggestions anymore. This would be a great disservice to all working on areas where the FamilySearch place names are just not up to snuff. And since it also turns off the IP provided drop-down lists it makes editing locations more cumbersome.

...it worked for me a moment ago!  ...show place name suggestions is below Death Place field (in Edit mode).  Also show hides them and hide turns them on which is bit confusing!
