Is there a free public Y-DNA database for haplotype comparisons?

Yes, now there is a free database where you can upload a Y-DNA haplotype (12, 25, 37, 67, 111 markers) and compare with other Y haplotypes.  Here is a comparison of three males at mitoYDNA:

https://www.mitoydna.org/public/YCompare?MtyID=T10003,T10543,T10465

You have to first register at www.mitoYDNA.org to see the comparison.

Birth date algorithm doesn't work in registration process.
Please describe how the algorithm does not work.

If you only know a birth (or death) year for an Earliest Known Ancestor then enter 01 for month and 01 for day.

Sincerely,
It's my birthday, it won't take the entry created when I enter "July" as instructed.
Enter 07 for July
It won't take it, it insists on "July"

Peter Robert see this Link on the Results Page Haplogroups listed in Green are Confirmed with SNP Testing or BIG Y Testing ones Listed in Red are Predicted from a Basic STR Test.

Roberts Y DNA Project at FTDNA

or Vist ytree.net , it is a DNA Tree where BIG Y Testers upload there Raw Data https://www.ytree.net/

It looks like the ytree.net site isn't for all Big-Y testers, but only for members of the R-P312 haplogroup.

So is this intended to be a new and improved version of (the now defunct) YSearch?

From a quick look, it seems like a very nicely done website.

I'd like to see the FAQ have a detailed explanation as to how the site calculates genetic distance.

Yes, it is intended to be a new and improved GDPR compliant replacement for both YSearch and mitoSearch.

Which other companies are testing Y DNA markers and mtFull than FTDNA?

Thank you very much - do you have any participants from the other companies yet?
YSEQ has just a few.  There will be more once they promote it.
