Is there a record of his marriage and birth of his daughter?

I am being debated on whether or not he had any children. If there is even the slightest record of his daughter, I would love to see it.

Ed Archer, an authority on Wallace, has found no mention of her in the earliest accounts of his life Blind Harry’s “The Wallace,” an epic poem written in about 1508, refers to a woman called Innes, who is credited with helping Wallace escape from the clutches of English troops. There is no suggestion that she was his lover or his wife. Braidfute does not appear until 1570, in a revised edition of Blind Harry’s poem, possibly commissioned by the Baillies of Lamington, a wealthy family from Lanark who hoped to ingratiate themselves with Mary, Queen of Scots by claiming to be Wallace’s descendants. In the revised text, Braidfute, from Lamington, Lanarkshire, is described as Wallace’s lover and the mother of his daughter, from whom the Baillies of Lamington claim to be descended.
However, a study by Archer of contemporary historical records found no mention of any Braidfutes living in the area at the end of the 13th century. “Dispelling the myth of Marion is important because we should try to get at the truth beyond the romance that surrounds Wallace,” said Archer. “What lies at the heart of this is the political aspiration of a local, minor aristocratic family who wanted to gain favour at the court of Mary Queen of Scots by claiming to be descended from William Wallace. “There is still mileage in Wallace and there are still things to be discovered about him. People have avoided Blind Harry’s 1508 version of the Wallace story because it is not an easy read.”
Archer presented his findings last year, at a conference on Wallace’s life hosted by the Lanark Archaeological Trust, part of a series of events commemorating the 700th anniversary of Wallace’s death.

In fact, Blind Harry's book was "published" about 1475-80, presumably with some assistance from Sir William Wallace of Craigie in providing details of the Wallace family. Whichever way those details came to be known, one or both were incorrect in those details. William "Braveheart's" father was not Malcolm, the Wallace family appears not to have any ties with Elderslie in the late 13th century, there is no evidence known of for Marian Braidfute nor of any child fathered by Sir William. The version of Harry's book that is much easier to read is William Hamilton of Gilbertfield, the latest version of that book known to me is that published in 1998 with an introduction by Elspeth King.
According to one source, William Wallace's brother,John Wallace had four sons. If that is accurate, it may be that Wikitree attached the daughter to the wrong Wallace.  I am going to investigate that possibility.
The only reference or maybe two to Sir John Wallace came a number of years ago and suggested only that John had "several" children. I do not recall that any mention was made of the number of sons or daughters; typically, "several" means more than two. As to Sir John, he is said to have been captured at the Battle of Loch Ryan in February of 1307, transported to London and executed as his brother William had been: hanged, drawn and quartered. Also captured at Loch Ryan, two of (future king) Robert's brothers and the sheriff of Ayr, the sheriff presumably being the sheriff said to have been hanged at the Barns of Ayr 11 years earlier.
Well then, If I am related to William Wallace, it is most likely through his brother,John Wallace. I will check all of my family lines that led to William Wallace and see if I match to John Wallace.
To help me understand where you are coming from here, do you mean "related to" as in "descended from" Sir William? The sad fact of the matter is that under any definition, neither you nor anyone else is "related to" or "descended from" Malcolm, William or John Wallace. The last of that Wallace name, that Wallace family, was Duncan who died about 1374, no other Wallace male of that line known to the Scots government, thus the two properties that we know he held at the time of his death went to the Cathcart family "about 1374," holding until 1760.

Wikitree shows the same thing. They pride themselves on not letting you add new profiles without documentation. It appears that they are not concerned about accuracy as much as the number of sources you add to the profiles.

Howard, Wikitree is an Organization  and all that is asked is for a source for whatever you post in a biography.  example: If you say John Doe fought in Rev War, then you should add a source as to where you found that information, so others can use it to better their research.  No rule says you have to have a certain number of sources, just that you supply a source to back up what you post.

I gave you an answer based on one mans research, that doesn't mean he is totally correct or not, just that they are still determining what is true and what myth.  Let  the Wallace's work that out .  You should be trying to find sources for all your posted profiles instead. of jumping into another controversy .

Well cousin Sandra, I love a little controversy and debate, just ask my cousin Kelly Hardcastle. Anyway, thanks to Family Search, I will give Wikitree all the sources for each profile that they can handle.
Good Howard, that will help us all.
As you can see, I have already started adding sources to my family profiles.
