Why is Richard Lawson not in the WikiTree?

I descend from YDNA proven Richard Lawson (1789 - 1852) from the Falling River Lawson's of East Tennessee.  He is buried in Bradley County, TN at Flint Springs Cemetery.  We are all very well informed of our line.  Richard was my 3rd Great Grandfather, closely matches Drury, Drewry, Drewery... I match many Potts, Watts and even Corntassell.  I would like to work with someone to add my Richard.  I have all the descendants from Richard, but we actually think Drury may be the father of our Richard.  We need some help.  Thanks!  Many Lawson's still live in Bradley County, TN.

I am an experienced researcher/genealogist on the Lawson line of East Tennessee.  I am able to help others.  I am originally from the area of Bradley County, TN.  I'm going back there to live soon.  I am in Florida now.  I descend from his daughter Elizabeth Jane Lawson and her husband James A Carroll (married Oct 1849 in McMinn County, TN)  Richard Lawson and Mary Campbell Lawson are in the same County at that time!

Should have been an answer RJ. I'd have given you a star. wink

Yes... I see.  But again, no one has anything beyond Richard.  We've been at this a very long time.  I have spoken with Judy, she is a descendant of my GG Grandmother's brother.  I've spoken with or connected with at least everyone in that line.  Richard Tate and George Walter signed an affidavit for their sister for the Civil War Pension and filled in a lot of good information.  On the death certificates, we really have nothing.  Heck! This family can't even confirm the Campbell line correctly.  We've come a long way with DNA and people still copy tree's and no one communicates.  So I see Richard, but no Richard's parents.  So again, any suggestions?  Thanks! laughKathy

Hi, Kathy,

To aid in connecting with other members you may want to edit your tags to include single surnames, locations, or genealogical interests/events (such as Cemeteries or Mayflower).

For help with tags, click here. To edit your tags click here.

When you click on a tag it will bring up a list of others following that tag.

Thank you... I'm learning my way around.
Did you check my tags?  I added a ton.  I hope I did it right... I think I added all my really important surnames and areas.  If I didn't do it right, please help.  Thank you again.
Hi, Kathy,

You neee to limit it to one name or location per tag.

That's great that you have a lot of family information to share.  Richard is probably not in Wikitree because no other descendants have built their tree back to him or lack the documents to prove their relationship.  You just need to add your family and your documentation back to him. It's always best to start with yourself and work your way back person by person, adding documentation as you go.   It's possible that other relatives from this line already have profiles, so you need to check for potential duplicates as you go.

There does not appear to be a Lawson Name Study. You may want to consider organizing one and inviting others to help.

Yikes... I'd like to... but I'm working on my Carroll line doing that.  This is exhausting! LOL
