Hi Steve,

You can't actually upload your DNA results to WikiTree. But you can add to your profile the fact that you've taken a particular test (which it appears that you have done). This link should get you to your DNA tests where you can add/modify your test info.

The fact that you've taken a particular test will propagate to the appropriate existing ancestors/descendants (which differ based on the type of test taken) within 24 hours. If new ancestors are added and/or relationships are changed, the DNA test info will propagate/repropagate within 24 hours to the appropriate new/updated profiles.

For autosomal/auDNA tests from most testing companies, you can actually upload your results at GEDmatch/Genesis for matching with others that have also uploaded there.

Thanks very much Rick.  Trying to get the hang of this. There are a lot of things that are complicated -- like adding multiple haplogroups from 23andme to the results page at WikiTree.  I can add one haplogroup, but not the five that 23andme lists -- or at least I haven't figured out how to do it yet.  But thanks very much for what you have shared above.  all best.

Steve,

I haven't tested at 23andMe so I'm not familiar with how their test results appear. But it seems to me that you should only have at most 2 haplogroups assigned from them - a paternal haplogroup (if male tester) and a maternal haplogroup (male or female testers), if their test provides that info.

Kerry's answer at the bottom of this G2G post suggests how you could add your paternal and maternal haplogroups from your 23andMe test by adding "Other YDNA" (paternal haplogroup) and/or "Other mtDNA" (maternal haplogroup) test(s) to your profile.

If I remember correctly, I had to link it to my Ancestry profile. I can check my connections with Ged Match. You can then compare other members there if their DNA is listed.
