Putting Flesh on the Bones of History

Just found on FamilySearch James Henry Laws 1863-1914 added by someone called *** claimed my Great Grandfather Robert Henry Laws 1828-1891 as the father by Louisa FitzGerald I'm NOT denying it I wasn't there BUT where is the evidence? cos this is real cool, been looking for cousins for ages

Hi John, as it is user uploaded, unless they cite sources to back it up, isn’t much good  except point to possible areas of search.

It would be the same as someone here citing ‘as witnessed by me’ on a profile who died in 1700’s

The first thing to do would be to check the birth reg for James Henry Laws and find his mother's maiden surname. To see whether it is Fitzgerald.

Then look for marriages with that surname marrying Laws.
