I cannot imagine the many hours Rick Pierpont has spent adding and organizing sources on Wikitree. If you haven't checked out the "Category:Source" on Wikitree, you should. His efforts to add a free-space page for each source is a great idea because it:
* Helps Rick's fellow genealogists find good sources (duh)
* Allows us to maintain updated information about the source including where to find it online; changes made to websites can create links that don't work anymore, but often the source free-space page has multiple places to find the source. If a link is no longer working, we'll be able to quickly see other places to find this source. I'm going to start providing this internal link as part of my citations as often as possible (in addition to the external link directly to the source).
* Provides example citations for the source with wikitext, so others can copy and paste the citation to the profile they are editing.
* Each free-space profile with a source also includes information about which other profiles are using this source, which can be helpful to genealogists considering that source.
Thank you for your great work, Rick!
