I would like to ask for help in finding the DAR record for George Fitzgerald b. 1739 in VA. It supposedly states "Betty" as wife. Land Records from VA state Margaret as wife. Thank you for your help.

Add this template to the profile sources:

{{DAR-grs|A040167|George Fitzgerald}}

When saved, it will provide a link to his record in the DAR GRS database. The main GRS database search screen is here:

http://services.dar.org/Public/DAR_Research/search/?Tab_ID=1

Note that his ancestor number is: A040167

The DAR database lists the wife’s name as “Betty” but based on the information that is showing she is not well documented.  You can purchase copies of the records, but I’ve found that the wives of the patriots don’t usually have much documentation- it’s the military or public service of ancestor and proof that the children are his that’s important. The wife doesn’t really matter much. .
Eric,

Thank you so much for helping me find George's DAR record submission! It has several faulty statements, but at least I have it now.

Great service!
Kathie,

Thank you for your help! Yes, it's too bad that some of the information added, especially on George, is not correct - they skipped a generation! There was probably not much documentation provided at the time either.
