My Great Grand Father was Andrew Duryea 2-26-1850 He was born in Charleston Tioga Co. Pa.   His wife was Emma J Bacon Duryea. 12-1855. Emma's, father was Elmer Bacon Jr.  and  his father Elmer Bacon Sr.  They were Quakers. She is buried in Corith Count Il.  Their son John was my Grandfather who was married to Grace Fletcher during the war they volunteered for the Red Cross and then were farmers. Their son Lucian Andrew was my father.

Andrew Duryea and Emma Bacon Duryea were my great grandparents. His Father was Ruluf Duryea and yes a direct descendent from Joost Duryea the French Huguenot.  He was born in Nord France.  The spelling was Durie and yes there was a Scotland connection.  The Durie's were given a Scottish Castle on the Durie Fife in the 1200's when Mary Queen of Scots visited.
