Can you tell me where I might find Meridy's parents I cannot seem to find them or a death record for him?
Sorry, no, I looked but did not find.  I think your best bet is local genealogical/historical societies in Pickens County.  If any records exist, they are probably not online.  Good luck!
I thank you sir! I was afraid of this.... the court house burned down and most of the records with it.....
A lot of records were kept at churches.  Locals would know.
