Anyone have any information on Lyttle Dunkin other than what is in the 1841 Census?

Anyone have any info on Lyttle Dunkin (1775-?)  All I can find is one reference in the 1841 Irish census which states he was in Sallaghan, Killishandra, Cavan, Ireland, was 66, head of houshold, and a linen weaver.  I am trying to establish if he is the father of Lytle Duncan (1804- 24 Dec 1872) Bohey, Leitrim, Ireland.  Lytle Duncan is my oldest relative I can find and cannot identify his parents.

Thanks for the help.  What you provided confirms what I have on Lytle Duncan (1804), his children and grandchildren.  If interested, let me have an email address at reduncan1972@icloud.com and I will send about a years worth in a well organized MS Word document that traces Lytle to me with a number of family pictures including Lytle’s farm house. The challenge is finding where the lineage goes prior to Lytle (1804).  Due to the destruction of so many Irish documents I have hit a stop at Lytle and was hoping the Lyttle Duncan (1775) mentioned in the 1841 census might prove to be his father and I would like to find which of the other Duncans in Dromahaire are relatives.  One, a John Duncan, is listed in the tax records as sharing a property with him in about 1833.  Again, thanks for the help!
Thanks for the information, it is of help.  I am the RE Duncan cited for most of what you found online.

1841 Ireland Census: Townland: Sallaghan

(Parish: Killeshandra, Barony: Tullyhunco, County: Cavan)

House: 7

Alive, Sunday 6th June 1841

Lytle DUNKIN / 64 (1777) / Male / Head / Linnen Weaver / Resides: Cavan

Member of Family Died Since 6th June 1831

John HAMMON / 40 / Male / Step Son / Labourer / Soar Throat / Year Died: 1841

[Page 2 has different headings, including Married & Year(s) Married]

Sarah DUNKIN / 60 / Female / Wife / Married / Year Married: 1804 & 1831 / Spinning Wool / Read / Native of Co.: Cavan

Francis HAMMON / 17 / Male / Step Son / Not Married / Labourer / Read / Native of Co.: Cavan

Mary McMANUS / 40 / Female / Visitor / Not Married / None / Cannot Read / Native of Co.: Leitrim

This Census says SARAH DUNKIN was married twice, once in 1804 to (Unknown) HAMMON. Second marriage in 1831 to LYTLE DUNKIN. Please note HAMMON children are Lytle's step children.
Also notice the census search has his name indexed as "Lyttle" on the written page it's clearly written "Lytle".
The proceeding House 6 has a James HAMMON family. Could be a son of Sarah from her previous marriage.

Thanks so much!  If interested, let me have an email address at reduncan1972@icloud.com and I will send about a years worth in a well organized MS Word document that traces Lytle to me with a number of family pictures including Lytle’s farm house and some information on the kids who went to Canada. My challenge is finding where the lineage goes prior to Lytle (1804) and your information could help.  Due to the destruction of so many Irish documents I had hit a stop at Lytle and was hoping the Lyttle Duncan (1775) mentioned in the 1841 census might prove to be his father and I could perhaps get the line going again to eventually get back to Scotland.  That remains a dream, but thanks for the help!

Since Lytle is 64, married Sarah ten years previous in 1831 and there are no Dunkin children on this 1841 census... if he did have children, most likely would be in an earlier marriage. To whom, I don’t know. Seems logical he would have a son named Lytle. Uncommon first name, could it have been a grandparents surname? My DUNCANs came to Quebec from Londonderry, Northern Ireland. I’m stuck on them and have become a Northern Ireland DUNCAN researcher (as a hobby and the enjoyment of the hunt).
