Seeking birth, wife, death info on JOHN GRAY assoc. w/BEVERLY MA ca. 1670s

I have found church records circa 1700 from Beverly MA for "Family of George & Brigit Gray" (nee Horrill) listing John & Ruth (Hibbard), Isaac & Rebecca (Woodbury), Isaac & Anna (Ellingwood - wife #2), and James and Mary Gage Gray.  Gray book published in late 1880s lists a JOHN GRAY coming over from England circa 1670, lost an arm & was a half-pay Royal Navy pensioner (likely an officer to receive pension).  All dates, names in this church record match those in published book for my ancestors, but no father or mother listed at the time of church record.

Many unsourced family trees posted mix up this John Gray (with 4 sons) with John Gray of Yarmouth (lived somewhat nearby, same name, same time period).  I have found wife, children (boys and girls) of the Yarmouth family and they are different.  Record from Beverly, MA Church points to separate family, perhaps parents both gone and so oldest son George is now listed as head of family.  Any info would be much appreciated.

Anyone have any luck with British Archives? Any other ideas on where to look? Contacted Beverly Historical Society... reply was no records of Sr., just John Gray Jr. (1680-1712/1713) Family lore says the first John Gray lived in 'eastern New England."

Does ayone have any info on THIS John Gray?  Thank you.
