My grandmother, Frona Rapp had a son, my father Robert A Ellis born around 1913. I think Robert A Ellis was from Kanas City.  Any help would be appreciated.  My grandmother was borned in 1890. Thanks, Dorothy

My grandfather's name would have been Robert A Ellis..  Around 1918-1920 my grandother married Daniel A Medlock, the only grandfather I ever knew. The reason I think my "real" grandtaher was frome Kansas City is because that was where my father was born.  Hope this help clarify.  Thanks to those who have replied. Dorohy

Frona R. Medlock b. 16 Feb 1890 and died 15 Jan 1970 is on a headstone with Daniel A. Medlock b. 24 Jul 1880 and died 16 Feb 1964. The stone is located in the Dexter Cemetery in Stoddard County, Missouri. They were listed on the 1930 census of Dexter, Stoddard, Missouri. Daniel was listed on the census as Bea Medlock, male, age 50, born Arkansas. His wife is listed as Frona Medlock, female, age 40, born Arkansas. A stepson, Robert Ellis, age 17, born Missouri, is living with them. This appears to be your grandfather. Also, they have a son, Bill Medlock, age 12, born Missouri, living with them. According to the sons' birthdates, they were probably married between 1913 and 1918. I have seen no record of marriage or location in any other census record other than 1930. They seem to have lived in Stoddard County for many years. Local newspaper obituaries might assist in obtaining further information.

There's a US Social Security Death Index, 1935-Current:

Name: Robert A. Ellis

Last Residence: 64112 Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri, USA

Born: 24 May 1911

Died 13 July 1997

SSN Issued: Missouri before 1951.

Remember that Kansas City is the name of a place in both Kansas and Missouri.

I also found an obituary for Robert Alexander Long Ellis published in the Kansas City Star on 15 July 1997 (85 at death).  It's at http://obits.rootsweb.ancestry I don't know how to pull it up, perhaps someone else does to get the full obit.

Do you know if the wife died and he remarried? There's a MO marriage record for Robert A. Long Ellis, but wife's name is Estelle S. Stone m. 7 Sep 1957. This would be the same guy with the 24 May 1911 birth. Unfortunately there are several men of this time period with that name, but I can't find any with her name attached. Any other hints?
