I am appealing for help on a brickwall that I seem to have hit with Gertruida Aletta Muller (birth name) later Pietersen and then Van Heerden. Her birth location is based on oral evidence of a child still living. There are conflicting dates of birth (the marriage certificate in the divorce proceedings with Van Heerden states Gertruida's date of birth as 1913, while family suggest it was 1910 - the only certainty seems to be 31 December).
I have searched Doop Registers for Oudtshoorn from 1909 through to 1916 - nothing found. I do not know where Petrus and Gertruida were married I cannot find a pre 1932 Marriage Certificate (probably Schweitzer-Reneke which year the first daughter of Gertruida and Petrus Johannes Jacobus Pietersen (b. 1907, Vryburg) was born.
I have found the "Sterfkennis" for Perus (d. 7 Oct 1966, Warmbad). I have found divorce proceedings etc. for the second marriage to Van Heerden. Unfortunately no clues to confirm the Oudtshoorn birth place.
I do not know if Gertruida's family migrated to Vryburg or any other place for that matter.
Just adding in that Gertruida's mother apparently died in childbirth, so now to search for death notices circa December 1910-January 1911 or 1913-14
