Help finding sources for parents of James Wesley Melson

Looking for help finding some sources for the parents of James Wesley Melson.

Currently the attached parents are unsourced.

I also have a hunch that he may be related to this guy:

because of Wesley in the childrens names on both sides of the family and the similar path across the states. However, for some reason, the attached parents here are said to be from Kentucky.

If you can help find parents or documentation to help reach back a generation or two that would be greatly appreciated.

This is a James Melson born in Delaware. Not sure if this is related.

I haven't found anything on James' parents but I did find the marriage record of James to Margaret Wilson (August 1848) and added it to his sources.

Additionally, I doubt his next oldest sibling Samuel, was born in Kentucky.  I added the unsourced tag to him.  Based on the other children, I would say Ohio or Indiana is more likely although I wouldn't rule out Kentucky without a birth record.  The Melsons could have traveled by river -- which would put them next to Kentucky.  Since Mary Jane (Unsourced) is born in Indiana, it's more likely that the Melsons are traveling by land.

Wesley was used a lot in Methodist families, so while there definitely could be a connection, it could just have easily been a religious tribute to John Wesley.  That's how Wesley started in my family.

Thanks for the marriage info! On revisiting the 1850 Fed. Census record of James's parents, I don't think that Samuel S. Melson is James Wesley Melson's brother. Must be a cousin or something. I know census takers make mistakes and may have done so in this case, but the record shows both of them as being age 20, and Samuel is at the bottom of the family list, after the 2 year old, and before James and his bride and infant son. On the copy I have it doesn't give relationships, but it does list place of birth, and it says Samuel was born in Kentucky.
