North Carolina help for Catherine (Horne) Clarke please

Question

Can someone have a look at profile https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Horne-409 please.  I can find her baptism in Caithness, Scotland easily.  The only problem is that she was baptised in 1760 and, unless it was a very late baptism, she couldn't have married in North Carolina 6 years later.  Also the bio has her living in Caithness in 1841 (source 1841 census for Scotland) so she couldn't have died in Lincoln, North Carolina in 1835.

It look to me as if two families have been conflated but without any North Carolina sources, I'm reluctant to totally disconnect her from her husband and children.

This research may provide you with answers. I’ve not completely checked for errors but have noticed none that stood out. This/my Horne line originated in Jamestown, Virginia in 1622/1623 and three brothers migrated south to the Edgecombe area of N.C. starting in the early 1700s. The family and related families such as the Howells moved to western Alabama from 1820-1840.

Thanks Wayne.  I don't mind sourcing the Scottish end, but there are so many American profiles claiming that they came from Scotland with not a source to be seen for several generations that it can get frustrating at times!
