Served in Co.G,42ndMiss.Inf.at  Battle of Wildernessin Va he was wounded.He had dark hair,light eyes,stood about 5'5 and had s ruddy complexion according to his civil war records.He was born 26 Nov,1849.died Aug 31,1875 and is buried at Pittsboro Cem.8n Calhoun Co,Miss.His orginal tombstone listed only his name and his civil war  company.I have been researching his line since 1968 i was 16 when i started interviewing .If i can help you in anyway let me know

John W. Hardin is my grandmother's brother. He was born 6/24/1870 and died 7/22/1948. Married to Mary Ann Garrett.  Information was gathered from his State of Tennessee Certificate of Death.
