Death of William T Drake. Born about 1839 or 1840.

Question

I am searching for the date of death and place of death for my gg grandfather William T. Drake. He was born about 1839-1940 in Brookline Dist.,Madison County, Georgia. He is the son of Josiah Harvey Drake (1809-1867) and Lucretia Hayes Graham (1813-1880).

He is in the 1880 U.S. Census in Brookline > ED 71, Madison County, Georgia with wife Sarah S Drake and son John T Drake. The last information we have on William is that he was living in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia in 1881.

Can anyone help me locate his death or tell me where I may find a death certificate.

I was looking at Sarah S Drake, and she has a Find A Grave ID of 155431174. It says she is buried in Alabama. Her profile says GA. I am still looking for William T.

Thank you for your response to my question on William T Drake. I have information on my gg grandmother Sarah S Drake (Daniel). I have her Find A Grave information ID #155431174. I have the 1860 Census and the 1880 census.

What I am searching for is the death of William T Drake. The last information we have on him is 1881 Atlanta, Fulton County City Directory, Living with J.T Drake (His son). The 1884 Directory does not show him with Sarah. Must assume he died between 1881-1884.

Thank you for your response to my question on the death of
William T Drake.

I had found the above William T Drake that you reference with a Death date of 10 Oct 1935. This is before my gg grandfather was born. He was born in 1939 or 1940. I have the 1860 and 1880 Census. The last record we have of him is the 1881 Atlanta, Fulton County City Directory, living with J.T. Drake (his son). The 1884 Directory does not show him with Sarah S Drake (his wife). Must assume he died sometime between 1881 and 1884.

Billy, note the century difference in these posts.  The death record Frank found is 1935 not 1835.  Could be your man. I'd order the certificate if I were you.  Your theory about his death may not be correct.

His birth year in the 1860 Madison GA Census has an estimated birth year of 1839.

From Daniel-4560 it looks like Sophronia is William's wife whose maiden name is Daniel who was born in Ireland.

Sophronia is William T.'s wife. Her full name is Sarah Sophronia Daniel (Drake). I am not sure about her birth being Ireland. This information came from a Drake cousin who researched our family. The 1860 and 1880 census shows her birth place as Georgia. It also shows her mother and fathers birthplace as Georgia.
