Looking for descendants of Hedgman Smith 1788 & Elizabeth Casper of Culpeper, Virginia.

He had 2 brothers who also married Casper sisters according to the Germanna books. His son, Abijah Smith and Lucy Gains migrated to Howard County, Missouri. Other children migrated to Ky. They may have been associated with William Casper of the Mormons.

Hi Jerrie!  Could be a transcription error, but FamilySearch.org has her name as Betsey Carper.  "Virginia Marriages, 1785-1940," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XRHJ-Q8N : 11 February 2018), Hedgman Smith and Betsey Carper, 20 Aug 1810; citing Culpeper, Virginia, reference P 20; FHL microfilm 30,927.

Abijah and Lucy were married in Culpeper, VA.  "Virginia Marriages, 1785-1940," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XRHV-M22 : 11 February 2018), Abijah Smith and Lucy Ann Gaines, 14 Dec 1837; citing Culpeper, Virginia, reference P85; FHL microfilm 30,927.
