Problems with ADD on GEDCOMpare

I am trying to add my Father, Ward William Pyles, with the intent to have all my ancestry, half of which is derived from my Dad, on wikitree.

Somehow, on Gedcomcare, when I try to ADD my Father to wikitree, I receive the following warning:

"You do not have permission to edit this profile. Request to join the Trusted List."

Jeffrey Main has apparently made a profile of Pyles-408, who is my paternal grandfather. I have sent a private email to asking him to edit the site but he hasn't got back to me.

The real problem is  that my father is quite ontologically distinct from my grandfather.  My paternal grandfather, Jewell Frank Pyles (born 1911), my father was born in 1942.

What should I do. I need my father on wikitree, so that I can connect my paternal grandfather (of course) but more importantly all my ancestry on my father's side. Thanks for all your help

In addition to Sharon's and Ellen's suggestions, you might also ask Jeffrey to change the Privacy Level to Open.

Go to the Privacy tab of Jewel's profile, scroll down to Join This List, and click on "Click here to request to join the Trusted List".

If you don't get a response within a few days, use the Unresponsive Profile Manager link on the bottom of the Family Tree and Tools tab on Jewel's profile. The procedure involves yet more waiting, but eventually you should be able to get either a response from the PM or management of your grandfather's profile.

One of the annoying things about GEDCOMpare is that it doesn't offer the option of creating a profile without the relationships. However, you can create your father's profile by hand from your own profile; you'll still have to wait to get on the TL of your grandfather's profile to link them, though.

It appears that the system thinks you are trying to add your father as a connection to your grandfather. To overcome this, I suggest that you try this:

1 - Go into Gedcompare. Change the "match" between the grandfather in your Gedcom and the profile for him on Wikitree to a "reject."

2 - Try adding your father again.

Regardless of whether that works, you are going to need edit access to your grandfather's profile. In addition to the private message you sent, you need to submit a Trusted List request for your grandfather's profile. To do that, use the link under the Collaboration heading on the right-hand side of your grandfather's WikiTree profile. If you don't get a favorable response within a few days, see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Unresponsive_Profile_Managers for the next steps you need to take to get access.
