How would I find Civil Service records for Malcolm Henry Pate, my grandfather?

All that I know for sure is that he worked at Pensacola N.A.S, probably during World War II. He may or may not have worked there during Vietnam and Korean Wars.

If he was a civilian employee of the U.S. Navy and retired from Civil Service, you may be able to get a few leads from this page:

I haven't tried it personally and can't really vouch for its usefulness, but good luck!

I am going to try it out now.
I did not find any information about my grandfather, Malcolm Henry Pate, civil service records. It may be due to the government shutdown.
