Was Mary "Polly" Boone, who married John C. Couch a half sister of Daniel Boone?

Mary "Polly" Boone married John C. Couch. Several theories abound as to who were the parents of Mary " Polly" Boone was. The father may be Squire Boone, SR the father of Daniel Boone, but the mother may be a Native American . What is confusing is the fact that Squire Boones!' wife gave birth to Mary Boone.

Apparently not the same person.

I don't have an answer for you, but note that it may be of interest to you that my mother corresponded with an Irene Couch some years ago about the Boone Family lineage. I have a letter somewhere in my posession from Irene to my mother on the general subject. I also note that Polly was a popular second name for Mary in the family as one of my forebearers, Mary "Polly" (Mayfield) Cox, descended from George Boone III through George Boone IV and Deborah Howell; Josiah Boone and Hannh Hinton; Jeremiah Boone and Joice Nevel; and Rueben Mayfield and Charlotte Boone. I cannot access the letter from Irene Crouch (DAR#?191486) right now, but her mother was apparently the daughter of John B. Cox and the sister of Mary "Polly" (Mayfield) Cox and, so, some distant relative of mine. I suspect Irene is deceased. Her letter is amoung old genealogical research notes that I was going through yesterday.

For years, many have been told that Mary Polly Boone was Daniel Boone's sister, but there is no true evidence to prove it.
