Agreed upon LNAB for Pieter/Pierre Schamp/Des_Champs [closed]

Jannetje Dircks (Dircks-8), daughter of Dirck Volckertszen and Christina Vigne married Pierre des Champs/Pieter Schamp. The children from this marriage were named Schamp. Pieter/Pierre's family supposedly migrated to Belgium as Huguenots and then Pieter/Pierre migrated to New Netherland and married Jannetje. The name Schamp has seen plenty of other spellings including Shamp, Schamp, Schomp, etc. My line continued the use and spelling of Schamp up to the early 1900's. My research has found both "des Champs" and "Schamp" to be acceptable for this individual. I am inclined to adopt the LNAB for this individual as "des_Champs" as it currently is and the following generations as Schamp.

Any thoughts?!?

Thanks!

Ron

I think your thoughts are good :D

des Champs for this person and Schamp for later generations that used that name.

The underscore - des_Champs - comes in automatically when a two-name WikiTree ID is used (let WikiTree add it automatically though - I found out that it makes a mess if you add an underscore yourself when doing LNAB).

If there are other profile managers who might be interested in discussing this, you might want to post a link to this G2G question on the relevant profile.

I would say 'des Champs' not 'des_Champs'

That is what I meant. Thank you for your addition to the discussion. :)
