Henry Taylor how to find and confirm marriage / birth in England

I have hit a brick wall, know he immigrated to US sometime around 1874, after birth of his son Richard Taylor. Is there a good place to determine when he left England along with his wife and son? Where to find his birth / marriage record? All I know is Staffordshire, England was place of birth and he was apparently in Durham after his marriage.

    This is Richard Lumson Taylor from the GRO index

    TAYLOR, RICHARD  LUMSDON   mothers maiden name        LUMSDON

    GRO Reference: 1871  D Quarter in MORPETH  Volume 10B  Page 28

    https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/menu.asp  (need to register to search)

    This is the possible marriage of this couple ie the same one that you have.
    Name:         Henry Taylor Gender:         Male Age:         28

    Birth Date:         1842 Marriage Date:         4 Sep 1870

    Marriage Place:         Deptford, Durham, England

    Father: Nicholas Taylor

    Spouse: Dorothy Lunsdon

    FHL Film Number:         1514556

    Reference ID: England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 201        item 3 p 149

    Henry (30) and Dorothy(25) were in the 1871 census living as a couple in Ryhope Colliery, Durham. He was born in Spittal,Northumberland and she in Morpeth. He was a coal miner.

    Ryhope Colliery, Durham Class: RG10; Piece: 5012; Folio: 29; Page: 52;

      A Henry born 1841 in Spittal  is to be found on the 1851 census, aged  9 with his family

    Nicholas Taylor         38  coal miner  born Malington or Walington Hall???

    Jane Taylor         39 born Scotland

    Robert Taylor         12  Children all born Spital Norhumberland

    Nicholas Taylor         10

    Henry Taylor         9

    Mary A Taylor         6

    Conor Taylor         4

    1851 Census  HO107;Seg Hill, Durham,  Piece: 2412; Folio: 528; Page: 16;

     Note not happy with the birthplace for Nicholas,  subsequent censuses he says he was born in Ford Northumberland (twice) and in Tweedmouth.(once)

    (all predicated on this being the correct Richard's birth  and none of this links with  Henry being born in Staffordshire and he is also slightly older than indicated.)

    Thank  you for the information, I was coming up with similar results and so far unable to make a solid connection back in England. Henry's age at times was exact as Dorthy's and other times shows him 5 years older. Richard Taylor's birth is between 1870-1872 based on varying information I have. I appreciate you looking
